Comment : Of Norman origin built in Fécamp by the Normandy shipyards on the model of the Icelandic schooners, l'Etoile is the sister-ship of the Belle Poule. Detailed to training cadets for the French Navy, l'Etoile like the Belle Poule is a fast ship at sea. They both fly the Lorraine Cross for having joined the Free French Forces in Portsmouth at the outbreak of WWII.
